Fitness. Friendship. Teamwork. Character. Find your potential!
Rugby is an international game played in over 120 countries worldwide by over six million people. It is a game based on camaraderie, pride, and respect — a culture shared throughout the world. Rugby is currently the fastest growing sport in the United States and a growing number of colleges are offering scholarships to come play and study on their campuses.
At Milpitas PAL Rugby and with our associated clubs all are welcome. We welcome scholar athletes. We welcome those who struggle with academics and desire to excel elsewhere in life. We welcome the natural athlete. We welcome those who feel awkward on the field. We welcome all shapes and sizes. All have a place in this game and with our club.
Our club has included straight A students, and those at a alternate campus that have used their involvement with Milpitas PAL Rugby as PE credits to graduate from HS. Our club has welcomed pastors' children, former gang members, and teenage single moms. Our administrator has held a player's infant on the sidelines during practice. We have welcomed children of broken homes and had them find the stability they need in their lives. We have welcomed a player struggling with a history of self mutilation and seen then find themselves within our ranks and return to school the following year as a scholar and a member of school student government. We promote fitness, friendship, teamwork, and character building. If you want to be here, we will help make that happen.
Those who join us are family. Our opponents are our rivals, but also our extended family. Traditionally, after each match, the captains of our team take a moment to honor publicly the best players of the opposing team, the host club provides a meal and our players eat together. Tournaments are competitions but also family reunions. Come join us. Give rugby a try.
